Medical criteria

Our medical criteria covers a wide range of conditions and disabilities with examples including:

• Cancer treatment

• Heart, lung, bowel, and kidney conditions

• Degenerative neurological disorders or brain damage

• Muscular dystrophy

• Conditions affecting the immune system

• Genetic disorders

• Rheumatological and orthopaedic 

• Severe autism, learning difficulties or global developmental delay

Referrals for the following conditions should include the level of Disability Living Allowance/Personal Independence Payment which the child is in receipt of, and applicants should be in receipt of the moderate or high care or mobility component. This helps determine eligibility where conditions occur along a spectrum. 

• Autism

• Cerebral palsy

• Global developmental delay

• Learning difficulties

Unfortunately we are unable to accept applications for children living with the following conditions alone:

• Social, Emotional or Mental Health conditions

• Behavioural Disorders e.g. ADHD, ODD etc.

• Visual or hearing Impairment in isolation
