About Community Dreams

Community Dreams go beyond supporting an individual child and impact a greater number of children. This could be with a dream within a special needs school, a local health centre or hospital, a community group, or parent/volunteer run club for disabled children and their families.

Community Dreams amplify the impact of a dream by being available to multiple groups of children and for years to come.

Community Dreams are awarded once per organisation – but we are happy to receive applications for individual children who might attend any community project to which we award a dream.

Please note we are now accepting applications that will take place in the following financial year, starting from 1st April 2026. Any applications that require immediate funding cannot be considered.

Reimagined community spaces
Examples include sensory rooms, sensory gardens or playgrounds redesigned to be engaging, inclusive and therapeutic for children with disabilities. Imagine a space in your organisation where every child can thrive - we aim to make these magical spaces, often out of spaces that have been derelict or abandoned, a reality.

Equipment or technology
This could be a host of items purchased for your organisation/community project that will make a meaningful difference to the children you support. Here are just a few examples of what an equipment dream could include;

  • Adapted trikes
  • Interactive technology or digital devices e.g. eye gaze computers, interactive screens
  • Mobility aids
  • Accessible technology
  • Sensory equipment

Magical days out
Experience days for groups of children create wonderful new experiences, unlike anything else. They allow a child to take part in something totally new and exciting, made even better by sharing this day with their friends and peers. Special days out are full of magical moments and cherished memories,

  • A day at the theatre
  • Theme park visit
  • Adventure day out
