Riding from the vineyards of Bordeaux to the vibrant Basque city of Bilbao, The Atlantic Velodyssey is a truly unforgettable cycling journey. Following the world-famous Velodyssey route, riders will pedal through vast pine forests, rolling sand dunes and along the stunning Atlantic coastline, with overnight stops in the elegant seaside town of Biarritz and the lakeside resort of Biscarrosse.

The route then gently rises into the foothills of the Pyrenees, taking in the scenic Col of Jaizkabel before rejoining the coast and the beautiful San Sebastián. Leaving France behind and crossing into Spain, the final days trace the dramatic Basque shoreline before finishing in cosmopolitan Bilbao on the Bay of Biscay.

Every mile ridden and every pound raised will help Dreams Come True create life-changing experiences for children with serious or life-limiting conditions, living in the highest areas of deprivation in the UK.

Please note: the route and challenge details are currently provisional and will be confirmed within the next couple of weeks.

Challenge details:

• Dates: 2 - 5 September 2026
• Duration: 4-day ride
• Distance: 350miles / 565km
• Climbing: 3500m elevation over the course of the route. 
• Route: Start Bordeaux - End Bilbao

Cost and Fundraising:

Costs are approximate and based on a group of 20 people taking part in the challenge.  Costs include accommodation & meals during the challenge, support vehicles for kit transfer, support crew (mechanical & medical), all challenge logistics & bookings, pre-event support. Bike & cycling equipment, Flights & transfers, additional drinks, snacks and tips, personal travel insurance are not included.

  • 2nd Payment: £1300 (optional +£450 for single supplement)
